Vintage sterling silver iris glass crystal riviere necklace - from the Art Deco period. These iris glass rhinestones are beautiful with wide, varying stripes of pink, blue and green which reflect the light beautifully.
Lovely sized sparkling iris crystal rhinestones, bezel set in open-backed sterling silver raised settings, connected by sterling silver double links. It fastens with a spring ring clasp. The necklace is a choker length at about 15 inches, so please check neck measurements carefully. I can add lengths of extension chain in silver tone base metal for free, so please advise if this is something you would like when you order.
The two settings on either side of the clasp are stamped - one with 'sterling silver' and the other with 'PAT 311897' as I usually see in this gorgeous type of choker. This patent was granted on 23rd May 1929 to a jeweller called Walter Henry Collins. The last picture shows the patent drawings and how the construction was achieved.
I have other versions with different types and colours of stone available on Etsy or on my website. This necklace is in good vintage condition - please examine and zoom in on photos carefully for the minor signs of aging.
